Description	:	John R. Campbell, a Linn County Native, Buried Wednesday John R. Campbell, a native-born citizen of Linn County and a veteran of World War I, died early Saturday morning at a Minneapolis veterans hospital, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 2:30 p. m., from the Yocum-chapel, with the Rev. Frank Ward, of Cedar Rapids, in charge. Mrs. Clyde Kearns was soloist. Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 9, 1894, at Paralta, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Campbell, now of Springville, and served overseas with the 504th Engineers. He enlisted February 23, 1918, and returning the next year made his home in Cedar Rapids, where he was engaged in construction work. He was married February 6, 1942, to Marie Lynch, who survives, together with his parents, seven sisters and three brothers. Four of his sisters live in Marion: Mrs. Mable Bennett, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Aileen Hyde and Mrs. Irene Mann. Mrs. Minnie Richardson and Mrs. Verna Woods live in Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Leona Dunlap resides in Anamosa. Leo and Melvin, two of the brothers, live in the Springville community, while Merle is a Martelle resident.
