Description	:	On Sunday, July 12, 2015, Jesus, knowing John had suffered enough, sent an angel to take him home. John was the son of the late Leo & Rachel Smith Kuhl, spending most of his early years in Westfield. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1955. John retired from R.J. Reynolds with 32 years of service. He spent 57 years married to his high school sweetheart, Iris Lawson Kuhl. They had one son, Jeffery L. Reynolds with 32 years of service. He spent 57 years married to his high school sweetheart, Iris Lawson Kuhl. They had one son, Jeffery L. Kuhl and daughter-in-law, Patricia Ann Kuhl; three granddaughters: Tiphani C. St. Romain and husband Derek, Chelsea B. Rollins and husband Zachary, Rachel A. Kuhl and fiancé Stephen Horton; plus one grandson, Ethan Kuhl and his friend Marie Hearn; great-grandchildren: Charlotte Leigh (Charleigh), Annalise and Tripp St. Romain; two step-great-grandchildren: Cameron & Ethan St. Romain. He is also survived by very close cousins, Robert Smith, Kathryn Morgan, Betty Clark, Norita Robbins, Elaine Bowman and Freddie Smith as well as a long-time friend and classmate, Grey Tilley. John was a member of Westfield Baptist Church for many years. He held many positions including Deacon, youth Sunday School teacher, treasurer of Cemetery Fund and loved singing in the choir, solos and quartets. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Westfield Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Service will be conducted by Dr. Joel Stephens, Rev. Dale Riddle and Rev. Rickey Rogers with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The family wishes to thank the Hospice nurses and aides for their care and also to all the friends and church family that has been so helpful and caring.
