Obituary for John Roberts: Mr. John Roberts was born in Germany and passed away December 21, 1947, at his home in Kearney, Nebraska. He came to America with his parents at the age of six. He grew to manhood at Griswald, Ia. Here he was united in marriage to Christina Debus. To this union were born three daughters, and four sons, George of Amherst, John, Jr., who was killed in World War I, Charles of Laramie, Wyo., a son who died in infancy, Mrs. Katherine Norman of Decatur City, Ia., Mrs. Margaret Bressler of Torrington, Wyo., and Mrs. Anna Bressler of Gering, Nebr. In 1905 he came to Riverdale where he lived and farmed for 39 years. For the past four years he had made his home in Kearney. His wife, Christina preceded him in death last January. He leaves to mourn, his five children, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
