Read More	JOHN ROHWER PASSES AWAY AT FARM HOME GROTON FARMER EXPIRES AS RESULT OF CANCER OF LONG DURATION John Rohwer, a highly successful farmer living northeast of Groton, died last Wednesday from the effects of a cancer, from which he had been suffering for the past two years. Mr. Rohwer went to Rochester a short time ago for treatment, but medical authorities there were unable to give him relief. The deceased was born in Jerenstedt, Germany, September 17, 1864, and came to South Dakota in 1901, settling near Groton. He was married December 26, 1901, to Margarette Kromback at Alnoid, Iowa, and is survived by his wife and six children, two of whom are stepchildren. The survivors are: Lawrence, Esther and Louie Rohwer of Groton; Hazel Rohwer and John Rohwer of Firesteel, and Mrs. Wesley Cooper of Brampton. The funeral was held from the St. John's Lutheran church, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. E. Wilke and the remains were laid to rest in Groton cemetery. Mr. Rohwer was of a quiet, retiring disposition, but those who knew him recognized in him a man of sterling worth and energy. His passing will be sincerely regretted by a large circle of acquaintances, with whom the Independent joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
