Description	:	John was the son of Peter and Catharine Brandt Wyse. His parents emigrated from Switzerland in 1824 to Wayne County, Ohio. The family later moved to Fulton County, Ohio. John married Lydia Schantz on 24 December 1867 in Fulton County, Ohio. They later moved to Iowa where John farmed. Lydia and John had five children: William 1871-1925 Bertha 1874-1949 Amanda 1878-1941 Aaron 1880-1949 Amos 1880-1953 Aaron and Amos were twins. Herald of Truth - Volume XX, Number 4 - Feb. 15, 1883 - pp 60,61 -- WYSE.-On the 25th of Jan, near Wayland, Henry Co., Iowa, of nervous fever and inflammation of the lungs, of seven days duration, Bro. John Wyse, aged 42 year, 11 months and 7 days. He leaves a deeply bereaved wife and five children to mourn their loss. Bro. Wyse was a beloved husband, father and neighbor, a useful and beloved brother in the Amish church. He departed with a firm belief that he would have a better home beyond. His last words were Bible sentences, and songs of praise. Funeral on the 27th, and was largely attended. Services by S. Gerig, S.T. Miller and Bishop Joseph Schlegel, from 2 Cor. 6.
