Description	:	John (Samuel) Colbaugh, Jr., age 73, 907 Folsom St., Elizabethton died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John Colbaugh, Sr. and Gladys Steffey Colbaugh. Mr. Colbaugh was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Elizabethton and had worked as a mechanic for NARC. He served with the US Army as Sgt. He was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John Colbaugh, Sr. and Gladys Steffey Colbaugh. Mr. Colbaugh was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Elizabethton and had worked as a mechanic for NARC. He served with the US Army as Sgt. Major, serving in Korea, Desert Storm and Desert Shield. In addition to his parents, Mr. Colbaugh was preceded in death by three infant siblings, one brother, Bob Colbaugh and one sister, Janette Colbaugh. Survivors are his wife, Thelma Cardwell Colbaugh of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Allen and Trudy E. Colbaugh, Elizabethton, one very special granddaughter, Cameron Harvest Colbaugh, Elizabethton, three brothers, Tom Colbaugh, Erwin, Ted Colbaugh, Roy Colbaugh, both of Elizabethton, and three sisters, Louise Street, Christine Carriger, and Faye Colbaugh, all of Elizabethton. The funeral service for Mr. Colbaugh will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, June 29 at the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Phil Poston officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30 in Colbaugh Cemetery. Those attending are welcome to meet the family at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post No. 2166. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Colbaugh, Benny Colbaugh, Randy Colbaugh, Larry Street, Walter Carrier, Floyd Nave, J. P. Pritchard and David Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Feathers, Robert Eicher, Johnny Street, Robbie Carriger, Bud Cullop and Gerald Hardin. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 706 First St., Elizabethton, TN 37643.
