Read More	Publication: The Wyoming Journal Date: October 4, 1934 : page 5 Respected Man Is Taken Past Week Tuesday, September 25th saw the passing from this life, one of Jones county's well-known citizens, John Schrader, who was born in Jackson county on the 6th day of October, 1867, and died at Mercy hospital in Anamosa, early on Sept. 25, 1934. He had been injured in a fall in his barn while at work Sept. 17, and although everything was done by the best medical care and nursing, the injury proved fatal. Mr. Schrader was baptized in the German Lutheran church on November 25, 1870. For the past 35 years he has lived in the Center Junction community. On the 12th of February, 1901, he was married to Ida Luckstead, and to this union was born five children, Ella, Arnold, Norris, Ben and Myron. Those who mourn his loss are his devoted wife, his five children, two brothers, Dedrick and Henry, a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Three sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Schrader was highly esteemed and respected in the community in which he lived. He was an example of honesty; a good farmer whose delight was in caring for his stock, He was a home loving man, kindly and generous to his family, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him best. Funeral services were held Thursday from the Presbyterian church, Rev. Alyea officiating. Pall bearers were all nephews, August, Elmer, Albert, Louis, John and Will Schrader. A quartette Composed of Sam Thompson, Miss Leech, Mrs. R. G Mead and Gus Dreibelbis furnished the vocal music, with Mrs. Stanton as pianist. Friends filled the church and flowers were massed in profusion. His body was laid to rest in the Wyoming cemetery.
