| Description | : | Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Private in Company D, 104th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Elk River, Tennessee on July 2, 1863. His citation reads "Voluntarily joined a small party that, under a heavy fire, captured a stockade and saved the bridge". His Medal was awarded to him on October 30, 1897.
