John Sikir, son of Mike and Josephine Sikir, was born on December 14, 1853, in Cipravice, Czechoslovakia, and died at his home October 22, 1943 at the age of 89 years, 10 month s and 8 days. He had been bedfast for 18 months. On July 10, 1868, he came to the United Slate s and to Elberon Iowa, where he had lived until his death. He was married to Katherine Prokop on November 28, 1890. Surviving are his wife, Katherine, three sons, Joseph , Charles, and Emil, and two daughters, Mrs. William (Rose) Vileta and Mrs. George (Mary) Kucera . Also, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister. Mrs. Martin Kesl. Two sisters, Mrs. Fran k Dvorak and Mrs. Joh n Dvorak, and one brother, Joseph, preceded him in death.
