Stan was born to Frank and Lola Fisher north of Pompeys Pillar, MT., on May 13, 1923 and attended schools at Lindeen and Worden. He married Iren Wuest on Nov. 10, 1945, and left for the army three days later. Stan was a rancher and dairy farmer most of his life, also owning Fishers Water Service in Billings, MT. He had a gift for growing crops, gardens and flowers, being known for his spectacular yards. " If there is dirt, I'm going to plant something in it.: He was a 4-H leader and a member of the Angus Cattle Association. Along with Irene, they enjoyed bowling, square dancing, playing cards and socializing. No one was a stranger to Stan, and he was kind, soft spoken and friendly, a gentle giant. Stan will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Virginia Vrana, brother Bill Fisher, grandson Clinton Fisher, and great-grandson Cole Pelican. Stan is survived by Irene, his wife of 65 years; sisters Evelyn Barrett; children John (Judy), Sharon (Gus) Gerhardt, Bob (Kea). Don (Susan), Carol Brumfield; 11 loved grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A special thank you for his exceptional care to Carol, his home health aide, Rocky Mountain Home Care and Hospice, and Sapphire Suites at Valley Health Care. Memorials are suggested to Cole's Western Wishes, Billings, MT., Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Smith's Funeral Chapel.
