Description	:	John Stocker, son of James Madison and Amanda Stocker, was born April 22, 1875 at Ottumwa, Iowa. As a small boy he came to Seward county with his parents, later moving to Seward where he has made his home for the past 24 years. He died March 19, 1945 at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 3 days. He is survived by his widow, Jennie, by three daughters, Mrs. Maude Armstrong of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. James Armstrong ,Garland, and Mrs Noral T. (Josephine) Brown of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. William Peterson of this city, four grandsons, two of... Read More	John Stocker, son of James Madison and Amanda Stocker, was born April 22, 1875 at Ottumwa, Iowa. He is survived by his widow, Jennie, by three daughters, Mrs. Maude Armstrong of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. James Armstrong ,Garland, and Mrs Noral T. (Josephine) Brown of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. William Peterson of this city, four grandsons, two of whom are in service, Maj. Allen Armstrong, stationed in Hawaii, Lieut. Robert L. Allen, now home on furlough, as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Chain & Wood Funeral Chapel Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Franklin D. Cody of the United Brethren Church in charge. Burial was in Seward Cemetery. The following people from out of town attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Noral Brown and sons, Lieut. Robert Brown and Jack Brown from Omaha, Mrs. Maude Armstrong, St. Louis, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. James Armstrong and son Donald, Garland; Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Gilliand, Mr. and Mr. J. L. Leech, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Leath and son Myron, all of Humboldt, Nebr., and Mrs. Ethel Thompson of Lincoln. Blue Valley Blade, Seward, NE, Thur, March 29, 1945
