He came with his parents to Appanoose county in 1854, where he grew to to manhood. He united in marriage to Mattie J. He came with his parents to Appanoose county in 1854, where he grew to to manhood. He united in marriage to Mattie J. Clark on Nov. 8, 18S3 and to them were born two children, one daughter, Mrs. Rachel Glenn and one son, Raymond B. Stoner. The wife and children survive him. He also leaves to mourn him two brothers, Samuel Stoner, of Seymour and George W. Stoner of Boise, Idaho; five sisters, Mary and Junetta, Mrs. Marinda McElvain, Mrs. Ellen VanDorn and Mrs. Lutitin Morrison and two grandchildren. Deceased moved with his wife to Wayne county in 1884 and remained on a farm until 1909 when he moved into Seymour where he lived until the time of his departure. About the year 1878 he united with the Methodist church at Jerome and later moved his membership to the Kniffin M. E. church. He has always been a man of his word, whose integrity was not questioned. He was a good husband, a good father, a good neighbor and a good citizen. This community will feel a distinct loss in his death and he will be missed in a number of circles. His death was a great surprise to his many friends as the illness was of short duration and the news cast a gloom over the cummunity. The funeral services were conducted from the late home on Thursday. April 15, 1915, at 10 o'clock a. m. by Rev. Clemens assisted by Rev. Williams. A large concourse of people gathered to express appreciation of his life and sympathy for the bereaved family. Burial in Southlawn.
