Read More	Death Takes John Parkhurst Friends were pained to learn of the passing of John Parkhurst, which occurred in the Spencer hospital on Monday evening at 10 o'clock.l Mr. Parkhurst had been ill for several months and not so long ago had been to consult the famous Drs. Mayo at Rochester, Minn. for treatment. Everything possible in medical science was administered for his relief, but to no avail and his life came to a close, after being confined at the hospital for nearly a week. His death was attributed to leukemia. The deceased was widely known in this community and was one of our most respected citizens. He was a kind and loving father and always devoted his energies to the welfare of his family, which was one of the high ideals of his life. The deceased was born on September 29, 1868 in Wheeler, Ind. and died on November 11, 1929 at Spencer, Nebr. at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 21 days. At the age of 8 years, he came to Nebraska with his parents and located on a homestead southwest of Verdigre. On January 9, 1893 he was united in marriage to Ellen Bruce at Verdigre, Nebr. This union was blessed with six children, all of whom are living. Mr. Parkhurst has followed the occupation of farming since boyhood and his family have resided in the vicinity of Creighton for the past thirty-five years. At the time of his death, he resided on a farm near Wausa, Nebr. He leaves to mourn, besides his wife, three sons, Leo and Archie, at home; Harry of Venus and three daughters, Mrs. Maggie Tyler and Mrs. Harvey Collins of Venus and Miss Mabel Parkhurst at home; also two brothers, Clark of Creighton and Will, residing in South Dakota and one sister, Mrs. Hugh Smith of Dallas, S.D. The funeral services were held this Thursday morning from St. Ludger church at 10 o'clock with Rev. Father Windolph presiding.
