He was born in Topeka, Kan., Nov. 23, 1903, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Degenhart. He came to Billings from Topeka in 1922 and married Catherine Brown Nov. 22, 1927, in Billings. Mr. Degenhart was a retired Northern Pacific Railway fireman. He was a member of Little Flower Parish and International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers. He is survived by the widow; a son, John Degenhart Jr. of Lancaster, Wis.; a daughter, Mrs. Victor R. Roberts of 833 Wyoming Ave.; a brother, Adam Degenhart 849 Parkhill Drive; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Proubsky of Topeka, Mrs Eva Stegman of Pratt, Kan., Mrs. A. J. Schwalger of 1135 Parkhill Drive, and Mrs. George Lambrecht of 433 Hillview Lane and three grandchildren.
