Description	:	Mathews Journal Thurs, Apr 13, 1922 p1, c1 Mr. John T. Callis, a native and former resident of Mathews, died in Baltimore, where he had made his home for some years, on last Saturday. The remains were brought to the county Monday and after funeral services conducted on Tuesday afternoon at the home of his brother, Mr. W. Eugene Callis, by Rev. R. E. Velines, were laid to rest in the Gwynns Island Cemetery. Mr. Callis was a man of fine Christian character and had a host of friends on Gwynns Island where he had made his home for so many years.
