For some time his condition had been serious, as he suffered from kidney and heart troubles, which had brought on a dropsical condition. The body was taken to the Young Funeral Home on West Jefferson street for preparation, and was returned to the late home Tuesday afternoon to lie in state until the hour of services. John T. tebbe was born near the town of Oldenburg, in Franklin county, his parents being William and Josephine (Ferkenhoff) Tebbe, but most of his life was spent in Tipton county. He came here when 17 years of age. He was the last member of his family, two brothers and five sisters having preceded him to the grave. The late Mrs. Josephine Ertel, was a sister, her death occuring July 18, 1934. During his long residence in this community, he was noted for his honesty and integrity and no one questioned his word. He was a farmer who made a success of his occupation, and at one time had a milk route in Tipton. Honesty radiated from the countenance of John T. Tebbe, and if he ever wronged a person, it was not through any desire or intention of his own. He was a man who, on the other hand, would take a wrong rather than have the other person feel he had a grievance. In addition to being a member of St. John's Church, he was also a member of Tipton Council No. 1265, Knights of Columbus and of the Holy Name Society. Surviving with the widow,is one daughter, Katherine, wife of John M. Tebbe, four grandchildren; Mrs. A.J. Biltz, Mrs. L.A. Tragesser, Sister Doloretta of St. Joseph's Academy, and Miss Margaret Tebbe. There are also five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Church Thursday morning at 9:00 o'clock and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
