September 26, 1935, p. 1, col. 4 OBITUARY John T. Ward John T. Ward, a well-known farmer, living four miles southwest of Ulysses, died at an Omaha hospital on Tuesday, September 17. Deceased was a son of John Ward and Sarah Farrel Ward and was born at Meridian, Connecticut on September 8, 1869. In March, 1871, the family came to Ulysses, Nebr., taking up their residence at the homestead which was to be John's home until his last illness, which occurred on July 31 when he suffered a fall in his own yard, causing an injury to his spine. On April 7, 1902, deceased was married to Miss Margaret LaCrun, who survives him. Seven children were born to them. They are: Charles, Dorothy, Thomas and Leo at home, Sister Jean Marie and Sister Mary Imelda of Mt. St. Mary's Convent, Omaha and George, of St. Louis, Missouri. He also leaves two brothers, P. W. Ward of Ulysses and James of Denver, Colo., and two sisters, Mrs. T. J. Rinn of Omaha and Mrs. Lester Miner of Kearney. Mr. Ward was a devout member of the Catholic church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. The funeral services were conducted at the Ulysses Catholic church on Thursday morning, Sept. 19 by the Rev. Father Kaczmarek, assisted by the Rev. Felix Andrzejkiewicz and the Rev. Walter Rocki and the remains were laid to rest by the side of his father and mother in the Catholic cemetery. The pall bearers were: John McGowen, Joseph Geiger, William Coyle, Dan McGuinness, James Lamb and Lawrence Lamb. Those who were present at the funeral from a distance were: Sisters Jean Marie and Mary Imelda, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Rinn, Charles Compton, Miss Helen Compton, Patrick Lambe, Matt Ward, Edd Farrell and Mrs. Elsie Kubli of Omaha; Mrs. Sadie Miner and son Ward of Kearney and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Gray of David City.
