Rev. John E. Stacks, pastor of the First Methodist Church here, will officiate and burial will be Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing. Mr. Clark, a miner for almost 50 years, was injured Thursday while working in the Georges Creek Coal Company Mine No. 5. He was removing overhead rocks when they loosened and fell upon him. Dr. Benedict Skitarelic, acting deputy county medical examiner, said death resulted from a fractured skull and crushed chest. Mr. Clark, who lived in Koontz, Lonaconing, was in Lonaconing, December 20, 1885, a son of the late John T. and Mary Platter Clark. He was a member of Local 7768 United Mine Workers, the Methodist Church and the Knights of Pythias Lodge. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dessie (Dessie Haller) Clark; a brother, Robert Clark, Midland; one other sister Mrs. Margaret Dye, Lonaconing and a number of nieces and nephews. Seven stepchildren, Clarence Auvil, Baltimore; Dale, Elliott and Robert Auvil, all of Kass City, Mich.; Raymond Auvil, Cumberland; Pvt. Samuel Scott with the Army in Germany, and Mrs. Myrtle Knight, Baltimore, also survive.
