Gramling, SC - July 25, 1945 - John Thomas Gramling, 75, well known tetired business man of Gramling, SC, died at his home at 2:30 this afternoon following 10 months of declining health and 10 days of serious illness. Mr. Gramling was born Sep. 4, 1869, the son of Frances Booker Gramling. He had made his home in Spartanburg County, SC all of his life, having been engaged in the business with B, M, Gramling, his brother, at Gramling, SC for a number of years. The business was known as Gramling Brothers. He retired several years ago. He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Maye Hall Gramling, a sister-in-law, Mrs. B. M. Gramling: and a number of Nieces and nephews. Funeral services weill be held Thursday afternoon at 4:30 at the Gramling Methodist Church with Dr. W. L. Muliken and the Revs. G. C. Leonard officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Boyd Harmon, Loyd Johnson, Raymond Reid, Will Earle Wilson, G. E. Wall, Joe Bell, Claude Roddy and George Mathis. Petty Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. (Original obituary was rewritten to conform to Findagrave Rules by Record Hunter.) Husband of Maye Hall Gramling.
