Born in Harrison, Mont., on Feb. 5, 1921, to Harry and Aurelia (Reid-Adams) Eastlick, Jack led a long and happy life, blessed with a loving family and many good friends. Jack grew up in Deer Lodge, Mont., and as a young man, worked in his father's horticulture business as well as for the U.S. government on crews that performed surveys for construction of highways, bridges, and pipelines throughout the northwestern U.S. and Alaska. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army's 1913th Aviation Engineering Battalion in the Pacific theater. Following the war, Jack married Mildred Williams and graduated from the Montana School of Mines (Montana Tech) with a Bachelor of Science degree in geological engineering. He began his career as an Assistant Mine Engineer for Anaconda Copper, and in 1954, moved with his family to Christmas, Ariz., launching a long and rewarding career as a geologist in the mining industry in Arizona. From 1966 to 1983, he worked as Chief Resident Geologist for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company in the Globe-Miami area. Following his retirement, Jack worked as a geological consultant for several mining companies, enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and RV'ing with friends, and playing golf. He also served on community boards and was a member of the Globe Lions and Elks Clubs; Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration; Claypool United Methodist Church; Cobre Valle Country Club; and Pinetop Country Club. Jack is preceded in death by his devoted wife of over 59 years, Mildred, and is survived by two loving children, Mary Ann Eastlick (Robert Hately) and Robert Eastlick (Linda Voorhees). He is also survived by four grandchildren, Aaron (Sarah) Penrod, Amy (Steve) Slack, Kristen Eastlick, and Jessica Hately; seven great-grandchildren, Brady, Gavin, Luke, Heath, Rowan, Dane and Aiden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 5, 2012, at Lamont Mortuary, 328 S. Hill Street, in Globe, Ariz., followed by internment at Mountain Breeze Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society – Copper Valley Relay for Life, P.O.
