Description	:	John Vande Hoef, 83, of Rock Valley died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. Memorial services were held on Monday, Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. Mike Van Hammerveld officiated. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sioux Center. John was born Nov. 2, 1915 ,in Maurice, the son of Maas and Hattie (Bleyenberg) Vande Hoef. He farmed in the Sioux Center area. He married Grace Westerbeek on Dec. 30, 1938, in Sioux Center. She died Aug. 5, 1974. He married Aaltje Nieuwkoop on Dec. 16, 1977, in Rock Valley. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Marvin and his wife Sharon of Le Mars, Bill Vande Hoef of Alton and Harlan and his wife Rochelle of Sioux Center; three daughters and their husbands, Janice and Henry Van Bochove of Inwood, Debra and Roger Van Bruggen of Hospers and Beverly and Allen Hooyer of Sioux Center; three stepchildren and their spouses, Joan and Robert Ahlers of Missouri Valley, Bill and Carrol Van Gammeren of Inwood and Dan and Jan Riley of Round Lake, Minn.; 21 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Gertrude and her husband Case Schelling of Sioux Center, Ida and her husband Joe Van Veldhuizen of Battle Ground, Wash., Margaret and her husband Jake Vande Stouwe of Rock Valley, Jeanette Van Kekerix of Rock Valley and Henrietta Van Beek of Doon; and two sisters-in-law,Esther Vande Hoef of Luverne, Minn., and Suzanne Vande Hoef of Lynden, Wash. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Art, a granddaughter and a stepdaughter. Sioux County Capital 1999-09-23.
