Wolfe had passed away, though it was generally known that he was grieveously ill, information received conveyed the belief that he was improving until Thursday afternoon when a message came that he had suffered a severe relapse. His parents left immediately for his bedside but death had internvened before they could reach him. John Vincent Wolfe, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Wolfe, was born at Lost Nation September 5, 1888 and died at Boulder, Colorado June 1, 1917. Ever of a bright and studious nature the deceased was well equipped educationally for the duties of life. He began his studies in the parochial school of Lyons, Iowa; graduated from the Lost Nation High School with the class of 1906. Later he completed his education at Dubuque College. Following his graduation from Dubuque College, he moved with his parents to Melrose, Iowa, where he was married October 18th, 1913, to Miss Elizabeth Haley of that place. In the spring of 1914, he with his bride returned to the old homestead at Lost nation, from when he moved to Torrington, wyoming, where he successfully engaged in agricultural pursuits. Early this year he contracted a severe cold, which later developed other complications and despite all that loving hands and the best of medical scieence could do, he gradually grew worse. As a last resource, he went to Boulder Colorado in the hope that a change of climate might benefit, but it was all unvailing. He quiety and resignedly passed away, fortified by the last rites of the Catholic Church, of which he was an exemplary and devoted member. He leaves to mourn hisearly death a devoted wife, two children, his parents, seven brothers and one sister. All have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. A new home has been broken up and the lot of the wife bereft and of the children who will never know a father is indeed sad. His remains were brought home and interment in Toronto.
