John was born October 27, 1926 in Phoenix, Arizona to John and Helena (Schaecher) Dahlhauser. He lived in Phoenix until the age of five when his family moved to Lindsey, Nebraska. John was born October 27, 1926 in Phoenix, Arizona to John and Helena (Schaecher) Dahlhauser. He lived in Phoenix until the age of five when his family moved to Lindsey, Nebraska. His family moved to Peoria, Illinois at the age of twelve. He graduated from Peoria High School in Peoria. He served in the US Navy from May 20, 1944 to May 3, 1946 during World War II serving in the South Pacific. After his discharge he lived in Peoria before moving to Fremont. John married Louise Stephens in 1946 and married Carletta Sue Andersen in 1970. He was preceded in death by both wives. He lived at Yutan, Nebraska from 1987 until 1998 and then returned to Fremont. He worked as a manager for private clubs and lounges until his retirement in 1995. John was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, FOE #200 of Fremont, VFW #854 of Fremont and DAV of Fremont. He is survived by sons, Tom and wife, Sue Dahlhauser of Burnsville, Minnesota, Jerry and wife, Barb Dahlhauser of Omaha, Patrick and wife, Mary Dahlhauser, Doug and wife, Michelle Dahlhauser, and Timothy Strong all of Fremont; daughters, Jennifer Dahlhauser and Becky Dahlhauser of Fremont; sister, Margaret Zobrist of Morton, Illinois; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Louise Dahlhauser and Carletta “Sue” Dahlhauser; daughter, Wanda Richards; grandson, Jon Strong; brothers, Harry, Pete and Arnold Dahlhauser; and sisters, Mildred Williams and Esther Winkler. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father Ron Battiato will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 PM to 7PM with a Rosary at 6 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity yet to be determined." Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska.
