McKINNEY, 78, prominent resident of the Reiter community, died at 4:05 a.m. today at his home, three miles southwest of the city on R.R. 6, Rochester. He was an active member of the First Baptist church, having served as Sunday School teacher several years. Born March 22, 1885, in Piper City, Ill., he was the son of John and Mary McKINNEY. He came here from Piper City 62 years ago and had resided at the present home since 1933. His marriage was Jan. 19, 1910, in Fulton county to Carrie BLACKETOR, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John (Bessie) WERNER and Mrs. Gresham (Anna) BEARSS, both of R.R. 6, Rochester; a nephw, Donald WERNER, R.R. 6, Rochester, and two great-nephews, John and Jimmy WERNER. Preceding in death were one brother, Fred [McKINNEY], and one sister, Mabel [McKINNEY]. Last rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist church with the Rev. James RHOADS officiating. The Rev. Gordon HYDE of Indianapolis, former church pastor, and Mrs. HYDE will provide vocal music. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the McKinney home after 3 p.m. Thursday and at the church from noon to 2 p.m. Friday. The Zimmerman Brothers funeral home is in charge of rites. John W. McKinney Among the survivors of John W. McKINNEY, 78, Rochester township farmer who died Wedesday, is a brother, James McKINNEY, R.R. 6, Rochester.
