He was born July 3, 1926 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Robert and Eula (McKinney) Myers. On October 27, 1955 in Kokomo he married Laura J. (Chowning); she passed away March 21, 2006. John graduated from Kokomo High School in 1944 then joined the United States Army Air Force in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. Myers, 82, Kokomo, passed away at 12:45AM Sunday, May 17, 2009 at his residence. He was born July 3, 1926 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Robert and Eula (McKinney) Myers. On October 27, 1955 in Kokomo he married Laura J. (Chowning); she passed away March 21, 2006. John graduated from Kokomo High School in 1944 then joined the United States Army Air Force in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. Many years ago, John worked for Heckman Construction, than worked with Ashburn Construction, while working for Ashburn, he taught trade school in Peru, Indiana. After Ashburn he worked at Ivy Tech in building trades, he and his wife than moved to Arizona where he continued teaching at Central Arizona College, where he taught the Indians, as well as teaching at the Arizona State Prison in Florence, Arizona. John was well known in Kokomo for the many homes that he has built.He was an active member of the First Christian Church, Kokomo, and Disciples Heritage Church in Mesa, Arizona. When he lived in Kokomo, he was the secretary and treasurer for the Carpenters Union. Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Sally and Kent Kring, Kokomo, son, Michael Myers, Apache Junction, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Myers, who lived in Villas, New Jersey and a sister, Mary Lou Mitzenberg of Kempton, Indiana.
