Description	:	Served his country as a Private in the Chester County, Pennsylvania Militia in 1777 and 1778 under Col. Patterson Bell and Captain James Dunn. After the war he moved his family west first to Washington Co, PA and then to Moorefield, OH. John's father was William Wallace, son of Alexander Wallace, of Ayrshire, Scotland. Alexander settled in the Cross Roads, PA area of York County. William moved away and settled near Delta, PA. Some descendants are buried at Slate Ridge Cemetery in Delta, PA.	Served his country as a Private in the Chester County, Pennsylvania Militia in 1777 and 1778 under Col. Patterson Bell and Captain James Dunn. After the war he moved his family west first to Washington Co, PA and then to Moorefield, OH. John's father was William Wallace, son of Alexander Wallace, of Ayrshire, Scotland.
