The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Mr. Gambill was born January 31, 1947 in Wilkes County to Walter Sebon and Ella Beatrice Myers Gambill. He graduated from North Wilkes High School and Warren Wilson College. He was a member of the basketball team at North Wilkes High School and Warren Wilson College. Mr. Gambill enlisted in the United States Air Force during war time in 1967. He was a three time volunteer in Vietnam where he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for valor. He graduated from Wake Forest Law School in 1977 and fought for truth, justice and the Spirit of the law for 39 years. He zealously represented people from all walks of life. During his leisure time, he enjoyed farming and growing trees. Mr. Gambill grew up in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church community and later became a member of Millers Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Joseph Gambill. He is survived by his wife Audrey of the home, daughter; Agnes Beatrice Gambill of Chapel Hill, son; William Walter Gambill and wife Brittany of Greensboro, two grandchildren; Elise Gambill and Ella B. Gambill, sisters; Katherine Shermer and husband Glenn of Advance, Rosemary Yates and husband Ron of Millers Creek, Elizabeth Pilkenton and husband Thomas of Millers Creek, brothers; Bill Gambill and wife Rita of Hays, Thomas Gambill of Traphill, Aunt Betty Shore of Hays and Uncle Hubert Gambill of Winston-Salem.
