Description	:	North English Newspaper clipping, August 16, 1888: "Just before the terrific storm of Tuesday p.m., Walter Moore started to walk to his home about 3 miles east of North English. He left town about 2 p.m. and that was the last seen of him alive. Early Wednesday a.m. his wife sent messengers to town to see if he had remained with his father overnight thinking as the storm was so violent perhaps he had not started home. He left town about 2 p.m. and that was the last seen of him alive. Early Wednesday a.m. his wife sent messengers to town to see if he had remained with his father overnight thinking as the storm was so violent perhaps he had not started home. Excited groups immediately started search of him. He was found about 9 a.m. in Andrew Lockridges meadow. Here he was taking a short cut across fields for home. When found he was near a wire fence on his hands and knees, his face resting on a tin pail which he carried. Coroner Lyon was at once notified. Old citizens tell us the place where Mr. Moore was found is but a few feet where a woman was killed by lightening over 30 years ago. The deceased was a son of G.W. Moore. Brother-in-law of Campbell and William, merchants of this place and brother of W. Moore of Yankee Point. He leaves a wife and 4 children to mourn their sudden and terrible bereavement, one of whom, Miss Effie, has been attending school at Creston, Iowa the past year." John was born in Ohio to George Washington Moore and Abigail Randol Moore. He married Esther Jane (Hetty) White Moore on Nov. 20, 1864. Hetty was the daughter of William Davidson White and Rachel Williamson White. She was born July 13, 1843 in New Castle, Lawrence Co. PA and died July 21, 1926 at the home of her daughter Abigail in Mason City, Iowa.
