Description	:	JOHN W. WHIDDEN - East Wentworth - The death of John W. WHIDDEN occurred in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, on May 28 after a month's illness. Born at West New Annan on July 6, 1889, he was the only son of the late James and Jane WHIDDEN. His life was spent in New Annan, except for brief periods in the United States and the Canadian West. WHIDDEN - East Wentworth - The death of John W. WHIDDEN occurred in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, on May 28 after a month's illness. Born at West New Annan on July 6, 1889, he was the only son of the late James and Jane WHIDDEN. His life was spent in New Annan, except for brief periods in the United States and the Canadian West. He was one of the select troops who attended the Coronation of King George the Fifth in 1911. Mr. WHIDDEN was a dairy farmer and had numerous ribbons to show the quality of stock he raised. He also served terms as County Councillor and road foreman. He was a kindly neighbor, always ready to help anyone at any hour. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace Marie CHALMERS, eight years ago and by an infant daughter, Jean Creighton, and two sisters, Mrs. Annie MacNUTT and Miss Janie WHIDDEN. He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service on May 30 was largely attended. There was Prayer at Bonnyman's Funeral Home after which the remains were removed to the West New Annan United Church where Rev. Keith ROGERSON conducted the service. Two solos were rendered by Jack COULTER of Tatamagouche, "Beyond the Sunset," and "How Great Thou Art". Interment was in Bell Gift Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald LANGILLE, Albert KIRK, Delbert VINCENT, Lawson LANGILLE, Allison BETTS and Wyman BETTS.
