Description	:	John Wesley Bargar, son of Marchand and Narcissa Bargar, was born at the old homestead in Lee county, near Farmington, Iowa, April 9, 1868, and passed away at the same place, April 16, 1939, at the age of 71 years and seven days. He was united in marriage to Maggie K. Robertson on February 20, 1902. To this union three children were born: Birdie Smith and Lisle Bargar of Farmington and Maude Adkisson of Donnellson. Read More	John Wesley Bargar, son of Marchand and Narcissa Bargar, was born at the old homestead in Lee county, near Farmington, Iowa, April 9, 1868, and passed away at the same place, April 16, 1939, at the age of 71 years and seven days. He is also survived by one brother, Byron W. Bargar of Winfield, Iowa and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Bonnell of Ames, Iowa and Mrs. Lizzie Knapp of Farmington, also six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. His parents, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter preceded him in death. The deceased succumbed to a lingering illness of six months duration. Altho he was suffering considerably during this time, he was very patient and few realized that he was so seriously ill. Death came very peacefully after he had expressed his desire to leave this world for the realms of heaven. He was a member of the Prairie Chapel Methodist church for many years and then transferred his membership to Sharon Presbyterian church about 1910, where he attended as long as his health permitted. Mr. and Mrs. Bargar had recently purchased the Handlon property in Farmington and intended to retire in town. Funeral services were held in the Sharon church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock and were conducted by Rev. Clyde Ammons. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ammons and Mrs. Louis Curley with Mrs. Folker at the piano. The body was laid to rest in the Sharon cemetery.
