Following a stroke of paralysis, John Wesley Kirby died in Carrollton at 3 p.m. last Saturday. The body was taken to Perrysville for burial on Monday, funeral services being conducted by the United Brethren minister of Bowerston. Mr. Kirby was born in Perry Twp. 65 years and four months ago. He was one of a family of seven sons and three daughters born to Isaac and Mollie (Burrier) Kirby, the former of whom was a native of Pennsylvania. He was twice married, his first wife being Martha Phillips and the second Nancy Barnhouse. The children born to the former were Ed Kirby of Akron, Frances, wife of John Cutshall of New Rumley and Oscar of Perry Township. To the second wife were born Perle and Charles Kirby, Mrs. Bertha McCreery and Mrs. Ann Davis. All the above survive, together with Cyrus Kirby of Carrollton, a brother, and Mrs. E. W. Able of Perry Twp., a sister. Mr. Kirby had lived in Carrollton about four years, coming here after the death of his second wife, and making his home with his children.
