He was the son of Thaddeus and Caroline Boyd Lamson. At an early age he moved with the family from Ohio to Nebraska and homesteaded on a farm near Clearwater. Read More	Neligh Leader Neligh, Nebraska 02 Jan 1952, Wed • Page 1 OBITUARY John Wesley Lamson John Wesley Lamson was born August 25, 1872, in Utica, Ohio. He was the son of Thaddeus and Caroline Boyd Lamson. At an early age he moved with the family from Ohio to Nebraska and homesteaded on a farm near Clearwater. Later the family moved to another farm in the West Cedar Valley. As a young man John worked as a farm hand. Being a studious person and desiring to further his education he attended Gates College, Fremont and Lincoln Business College. Throughout the years he continued his studies and -kept himself abreast of current affairs. On October 2, 1904, he was married to Laura Alkie Frady, daughter of George and Harriet Eliza Frady. John and Alice commenced their married life in Neligh where he was employed as deputy county clerk of Antelope County. He later became county clerk continuing in that office until 1914, when he began his own business as an abstracter in Neligh. He was in this business for 34 years in the same office on Main Street. He was secretary of the local, board of education and also served, as city clerk holding both of these offices for many, years. From about 1904 until the time of his death he was a member of the First Methodist Chruch of Neligh. He was a devoted member of his church and supported all of its activities. He was a member of teh Official board, served as Sunday School librarian, was an usher at the church services and was a member of teh building committee at the time the present church was constructed. Mr. Lamson was a member of Trowel Lodge No. 71 A. F. & A. M. for nearly 50 years. He is survived by three sons; Willis of Denver, Colorado; Warren of Washington, D. C.; George of Neligh and two daughters, Marguerite Carnes of Neligh and Harriett Crowell of Tonopah, Nevada. Another son. William, died in infancy. He is also survived by nine grandsons and two granddaughters and other close relatives and a host of friends.
