STERNER John Wesley Sterner died at his home in Jefferson this morning at 6 o'clock. Death was due to dropsy after an illness of ten weeks. Mr. Sterner was aged 58 years, six months and three days. Mr. Sterner was for eighteen years a butcher at Porters Sideling and later for about four years a farmer near Seven Valleys. Lately he had been living retired. Surviving are his wife, who before marriage was Miss Rosetta Hoff, and eight children as follows: Mrs. W. C. Dubs, Baltimore; Anthony F. Sterner, Baltimore Street; Edgar Sterner, Hanover; Mrs. Charles Brenneman, Strickhousers; Mrs. Roy Jacobs, Jacobs Mills; Mrs. Harry Imhoff and Mrs. John Toot, Hanover, and Mrs. Guy Crist, Jefferson. Fifteen grandchildren also survive. Mr. Sterner was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sterner. The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon with services at the United Brethren Church, Jefferson, at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev. J. E. B. Rice will officiate. Interment will be made in the Jefferson Cemetery.
