Description	:	Last rites for John Willard Miller, 85, who died at his home on Mill street Saturday evening following an illness of one year, are planned at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the West Street christian church. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. The body was returned from Young's funeral home to the residence, where it will lie in state until 12:30 p. m. Tuesday, when it will be taken to the church to await services. Mr. Miller, who had been seriously ill during the past week, was born July 5, 1862 in Wayne county to John and Martha (Hoover) Miller. One of a family of eight children, Mr. Miller moved to Tipton county preceding his marriage On Aug. 13, 1893, Mr. Miller married Estella Adderline Kinder at the home of Rev. George Bozell, south of Tipton. The couple resided near Sand Bank and in 1909 moved to the Mill street residence. They were the parents of seven children, four of whom are deceased. Mr. Miller operated a farm east of Tipton until 1909, when he accepted employment with the Schlosser Brothers firm and remained with the company until he retired. He attended Maple Grove school and was a member of the West Street Christian church. As a boy, he was a member of the Sand Bank Christian church. Surviving with the widow are one son, Floyd R. Miller, of Fort Knox, Ky., two daughters, Mrs. Audra Hooton of Tipton, and Mrs. Cleo A. Timmons of Frankfort; one sister, Mrs. Ida Jack of Greenfield, and two grandchildren.
