Description	:	John W. Anderson, Sr. TIMMONSVILLE-Johnny Anderson slipped quietly away from this world Wednesday morning after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and caregivers during his final minutes. Johnny was born April 20, 1921 and raised on his family's farm and lived there the entire 91 years of his life. Anderson, Sr. TIMMONSVILLE-Johnny Anderson slipped quietly away from this world Wednesday morning after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and caregivers during his final minutes. Johnny was born April 20, 1921 and raised on his family's farm and lived there the entire 91 years of his life. Johnny served his country during World War II in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was a corporal with the 12th Armored Division Company B, 3614th Quarter Master Truck Company and drove supplies to the troops. He was a farmer, husband and father. He was an avid baseball fan and loved hunting and fishing with his youngest grandson Matthew. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanette Strickland Anderson, four sons, William Anderson, (Dena) Raleigh, NC, Jay Anderson (Diana) Columbia, SC, Watson Anderson, (Belinda) of Timmonsville, SC, Russell Anderson ( Kathy) Timmonsville, SC and his daughter, Lois Anderson Kirby, (Lee) of Timmons-ville. His grandchildren: Jonna, David, Will, Jesse, Jason, Sarah, Jamie, Justin, Barrett, Katie and Matthew, Deana. Great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Kate, Abby, Nora, Chase, Emmy, Jessica, Dylan, and Caitlyn. He was preceded in death by his entire family. He was the sole remaining child of William Edward Anderson and Rebecca Harrington Anderson. Funeral services will be Friday August 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Peniel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Peniel Baptist Church Building Fund, 4186 Twin Church Rd., Timmonsville, SC 29161. Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence is assisting with arrangements.
