William "Bill" Bridge, 79, a retired Norfolk businessman, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Prospect Hill Cemetery with visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Howser-Fillmer Mortuary. Bill was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Norfolk to Charles and Mabel (Odiorne) Bridge. He graduated from Norfolk High School in 1945 and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1949. He married Jeanne Kent on June 25, 1953, in Norfolk. In Norfolk, he was president of Norco Feed Mills before retiring in 1992. Bill and Jeanne moved to Omaha in 1994. Bill was also president of the Norfolk Family YMCA board of directors for the two-year period that the present YMCA building was built. He was a member of National Public Radio and was active in the Norfolk Arts Council. Bill is survived by his two sons, Mike and his wife, Brenda, of Omaha, and John and his wife, Cynthia, of Bellevue; two daughters, Lisa Jernigan and her husband, Rod, of Florence, S.C., and Sarah Smith and her husband, Russ, of Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanne, who died Dec. 22, 2005; two brothers and one sister. Father Walter Nolte will officiate. (Note: wife is buried next to him.
