Description	:	East Palestine Bill Green, 81, of 759 West Martin St., passed away at 1:58 a.m. Thursday at the Salem Community Hospital, after becoming ill at home. Bill was born August 2, 1926 in East Palestine, a son of the late William E. and Mamie Belle Mankin Green, and was a life resident of the area. He had been employed with the former Adamson Tank Co., as a welder for most of his career, retiring after thirty-six years. Read More	East Palestine Bill Green, 81, of 759 West Martin St., passed away at 1:58 a.m. Thursday at the Salem Community Hospital, after becoming ill at home. Bill was born August 2, 1926 in East Palestine, a son of the late William E. and Mamie Belle Mankin Green, and was a life resident of the area. He had been employed with the former Adamson Tank Co., as a welder for most of his career, retiring after thirty-six years. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the East Palestine Lodge # 417, F & A.M., and also had farmed in the area. He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline Cope, whom he married May 29, 1950. Bill also leaves three sons, Russell (Christy) Green, Youngstown, G. Michael (Pam) Green and John (Sandra) Green, both of East Palestine. Other survivors include two sisters, Elnora Felger, Columbiana, Sally Chase, Fremont; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Todd) Noel, Samantha Green, Shari (Scott) Stanley, Matthew Green, Kenneth Smith, Samantha Smith, and John Green; and five great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Mankin; and two sisters, Norma Kelterburn, as well as one in infancy. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with Rev. David Martin of the Centenary United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford. Military rites will be conducted by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4579 and the American Legion Post 31. Friends will be receive today (Friday) at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted at the conclusion of calling hours. The family has asked that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Social Concerns. From Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home.
