John William Bryan Lorance was born in Raytown, Missouri on August 11, 1899 to David and Maude Hardman Lorance. The family moved to Leonard, TX when John was two years of age, and then to Del Rio, TX. At nine years of age he helped his father build cement water tanks and at age 19, John and his father went into the cement contracting business. After his father passed away, he went to work as county superintendent of roads. In 1948, they moved to Holyoke where John was engaged in building, remodeling and renting of homes, and resided here until his death. He is survived by his wife Edith; their son, William H. Lorance; his children by a previous marriage; Delores Garrett of Coste Mesa, CA, John H. Lorance of Greeley, and David L. Lorace of Abiline, TX; step children Ann Einspahr of Greeley and Lyn DeTurenne of Paris, France; 12 grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Ross Lorance of Oceanport, NJ; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
