Greiner, 86, of 621 West Second Street in Washington died Monday April 29, 1968, in the Washington County Hospital. He had been seriously ill since March 3. Mr. Greiner was a retired farmer having operated a farm south of Keota for 56 years before moving to Washington in 1963. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Edward F Collings will be in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Rosary will be held at Sherman-Eden Funeral HOme this evening at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Greiner was born March 8, 1882 in Keokuk County, a son of Fredrick and Clara Norton Greiner. He was reared in Clear Creek Township and married Nov 24, 1908 to Mary A. Lahr. She died March 29, 1964. Surviving are one son, Cyril of Keota: two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Peiffer of Washington and Mrs. Clem (Orina) Chalup of Richland; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one brother, Will J. Greiner. He was preceded in death by two sons and three children in infancy, one sister and four brothers.
