Description	:	Obituary Wm. L. Vande Berg succumbs August 25 at Sioux Center Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, August 28, at the First Reformed church in Sioux Center for William L. Vander Berg. Rev. Brouwer officiated. William L. Vande Berg, a longtime resident of Sioux Center, passed away at his home after a lingering illness on August 25, 1856, at the age of 71 years, three months and two days. Mr. Vande Berg: was born May 23, 1885, at Alto, Wisc. On February 2, 1910, he was united in marriage to Gertie Huitink, who passed away in November, 1935. Read More	Obituary Wm. L. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive: Lawrence of Sioux Center, Henry of Orange City, (Dina) Mrs. Gerrit De Zeeuw: of Orange City and Dave of Hawkeye, Ia. March 6, 1940, he married Mrs. Martha Timmer, who also survives him; he is also survived by 10 grandchildren;, one stepson, Al Timmer; and seven step-grandchildren. Survivors also include four brothers and two sisters, Bert of Newkirk, Henry of Sioux Center, (Gertie) Mrs. Andrew Van Beek of Westfield, N.D., Garrit of Sioux Center, (Jennie) Mrs. Martin Dykshoorn of Sioux Center and Art of Sioux Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lammert Van de Berg; and two sisters, (Jennie) who passed away at the age of two years, and (Ella) Mrs. Nic Vander Ploeg. -Obituary from The Sioux County Capital (8/30/1956)
