Description	:	John William Spiker was born near Wapello, Iowa, July 21, 1863, and died at his home near Toolesboro, Iowa, Dec. 6, 1927, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 17 days. In 1891 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hontz. To their union was born three children, one dying in infancy. Joiner and Adda are living. In 1899 he was united in marriage to Ethel Nott. To their union was born fifteen children. Five died in infancy, Nancy, Elwin George, Cornie, Alfred and Basil. Ten children with the wife survive... In 1891 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hontz. To their union was born three children, one dying in infancy. Joiner and Adda are living. In 1899 he was united in marriage to Ethel Nott. To their union was born fifteen children. Five died in infancy, Nancy, Elwin George, Cornie, Alfred and Basil. Ten children with the wife survive his death. The children are Edna Cozad, Francis, Maud Lewis, James, Walter, Ross, Florence, Albert, Margaret, and Verneltie. He is also survived by one brother, Jas Spiker of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hull, of Morning Sun, Mrs. Sadie Keever of Gladstone and a number of other relatives to mourn his death. He was a kind and loving husband and father, always thinking of his family. He was a kind neighbor and friend, and was held by others as an honest man. He was converted at Toolesboro several years ago, and a few hours before his death signified his willingness to go whenever called. Funeral services were heeld from the home this afternoon at 1:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. G. Russell. Interment was made in the Creighton Cemetery. Oakville Sentinel; Dec 8, 1927. Front page. No marker has been found.
