The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times the family will meet at the home. The funeral service will be Friday, January 27, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. George Gouge, Rev. Ron Honeycutt, and Rev. Joe Query officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was born on July 2, 1914 to the late Raymond Shute Hinson and the late Roxie E. Love Hinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 75 years Emma Mae Morgan Hinson and granddaughter Carol Lutz Sneed; brothers, Raymond and Everette Hinson; sister, Winnie Batts. Mr. Hinson retired from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry after 41 years of service, and was a lifetime member of Stanly County Bee Keepers'. He is survived by sons, Arden Hinson of Monroe; Larry Hinson of Stanfield; Wayne Hinson and wife Marie of Monroe; John Hinson Jr. of Harrisburg; daughter, Sylvia H. Lutz and husband J.W. of Charlotte; grandchildren, Pete Lutz, Adam Hinson, Jenny Hinson, Carrie H. Hamby; great-grandchildren, Brandon Sneed, Kasey Lutz and Amy Boatright. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North 1st Street, Albemarle, NC, 28001-3350; Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Hinson family.
