Description	:	According to Parker's History of Londonderry, NH, p. 307: • John Woodburn came to this country from Ireland a few years after the settlement of Londonderry. Little is known of him previous to his emigration. He was accompanied by his brother David, who was drowned some years after, leaving a wife and two daughters. John Woodburn was married first to Mary Boyd, afterwards to Mary Taggart. His first location was east of the old Graveyard Hill, on the farm recently occupied by Robert Craige. John Woodburn was married first to Mary Boyd, afterwards to Mary Taggart. His first location was east of the old Graveyard Hill, on the farm recently occupied by Robert Craige. He subsequently removed to the High Range, and lived the remainder of his days in a log-house that had been used as a garrison for protection against the assaults of the Indians. He died in 1780. By his first marriage he had four daughters. • By his second marriage Mr. Woodburn had two sons and five daughters. Mrs. Woodburn survived her husband, and lived to a very advanced age. John Woodburn, s. of unknown parents, was b. AFTER Nov. 22, 1691 presumably at Northern Ireland. He d. testate Nov. 22, 1780 at Londonderry, NH (g.s., Æ 89.) On June 2, 1725 of record at Londonderry, NH (by Rev. James MacGregore, Town Book 1), not on Jan. 2, 1725 as printed in the published Vital Records of Londonderry, New Hampshire, John m. 1) Mary Boyd, whose parents and place of birth has not been uncovered. She d. at Londonderry before 1745. No gravestone for her survives, but she is assumed to be interred at Forest Hills Cemetery at present-day Derry, NH. They had five children, not four as claimed above, b. at Londonderry: summary of the five children to be added... On Jan. 20, 1744/5 at Londonderry (printed VRs), John m. 2) Mary Taggart, whose true identity is questioned due to conflicting claims. She was living at Londonderry Apr. 17, 1793 when the will of her husband was finally administered on and her dower rights or thirds separated from the Woodburn estate.
