He retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant with 27 years of service. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor and also served in Korea and Vietnam; charter member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Greenville, Chapter No. 523. Funeral services: Wednesday, October 28, 1992, graveside at Graceland Cemetery, with full military rites by a detachment from Shaw AFB.
