Description	:	Johnnie Pegorick, 87, passed away quietly at Anamosa Care Center on January 24, 2013. Service will be held 10:30am Thursday January 31, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Pastor Katie Lowe Lancaster will officiate at the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday January 30, 2013 at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Interment will be at Wayne Zion Cemetery, rural Monticello. Thoughts, memories, and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com. Also eight grandchildren; Leslie (Greg) Swartz, Vicki (Shawn) Schuman, Aaron Von Behren, Mark Mohr, Lilly Mosby, Danielle (Mike) Peterson, Alissa (Brad) Ehrenfelt, and Randy Jirsa. Those grandchildren blessed Johnnie with fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters Betty Willemack and Dorothy (Marlyn) Willey, a sister in law Wanda Pegorick, plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers (Harry and Freddie); a brother in law (Eddie), two nieces (Connie and Jeanie) and a grandson (Tyler). Born February 11, 1925 to Fred and Augusta (Carstensen) Pegorick, Johnnie was the second of 5 children. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1943 and entered the US Army in 1945 as a surgical technician. Johnnie and Roberta Moore were married and later divorced. In marriage he because the father of Vickie (John) Mosby and Christi (Danny) Jirsa. He married Clara Broneman and became father of Linda (Dr. Paul) Von Behren and Jan (Ed) Allaire. Johnnie and Clara were married for 51 years. Johnnie loved farming, managing farms in Olin, Anamosa, and Monticello. He was confirmed as a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in 1961 where he ushered, attended men's bible study, assisted with funerals and helped whenever asked. Other loves included card games, dances, children, red machinery, teasing and practical jokes on good friends. He was a member of the American Legion and Isaac Walton. In 1992 he retired and moved to Anamosa. In October 2009, he entered Anamosa Care Center. The family extends heart-felt thanks to the caring nurses, aids and activity team at the Anamosa Care Center. Their constant extra care and loving friendship will be remembered and treasured.
