Description	:	Joleen Sue (McDowell) Boldt, 65, of Waterloo, Iowa and formerly of Ottumwa, died on Monday morning, August 29, 2016, at the Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo. Joleen was born on November 19, 1950 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Albertus and Verla Lucille (Helm) McDowell. As a young girl she was baptized in the Presbyterian Church of Carter Lake. Joleen graduated from the Marshalltown High School and also studied at Indian Hills Community College. She worked as a seamstress at Franklin's in downtown, Des Moines and then worked as a secretary for Lefebure Corporation in Cedar... Read More	Joleen Sue (McDowell) Boldt, 65, of Waterloo, Iowa and formerly of Ottumwa, died on Monday morning, August 29, 2016, at the Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo. Joleen was born on November 19, 1950 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Albertus and Verla Lucille (Helm) McDowell. As a young girl she was baptized in the Presbyterian Church of Carter Lake. Joleen graduated from the Marshalltown High School and also studied at Indian Hills Community College. She worked as a seamstress at Franklin's in downtown, Des Moines and then worked as a secretary for Lefebure Corporation in Cedar Rapids. Joleen enjoyed sewing, writing and poetry, but what gave her the most joy was spending time with her family, especially doting on her grandchildren. Joleen is survived by her three daughters, Mechille Kluiter of Waverly, Sherry (Milt) Cardwell of Albany, Oregon, Carrie Boldt of Jacksonville, Florida; 4 grandchildren, one sister, Arretta Covert of Ottumwa, Iowa and a brother, Robert (Betty) Tidball of Chillicothe, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her oldest sister, Marilyn Mallonee. Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church (Piney Chapel) in Waverly, with Pastor Carolyn Bowers officiating. Joleen's body has been cremated and burial of her cremains will be held in Chillicothe Cemetery, rural Ottumwa, on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice.
