Description	:	Jon Reno, 16, former Richland Center high school student, died Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Mercy hospital at Benton Harbor, Mich., where he had been in critical condition since Monday with diphtheria. The youth had been living with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Loy Fisher, R.R. 2, Hartford, Mich., for the past 18 months. He was admitted to the hospital Wednesday. Diphtheria anti-toxin had been rushed to Grand Rapids Wednesday in an effort to save the boy' life. A routine check was made of persons who were in close contact with the boy and none showed symptoms of the disease. The youth had lived in Michigan since the death of his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Fisher Reno, Oct. 20, 1957. His father, Donald Reno, is presently serving a life term at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City after being convicted in Fulton circuit court for second degree murder in the shooting death of his wife. Jon was born Jan. 13, 1943, at Rochester and was a student at Richland Center School before moving to Michigan. He also is survived by a brother, Gene Reno, in the Navy at New London, Conn., the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Chloe Reno, Rochester, and several uncle and aunts. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home here with the Rev. James Rhoads officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
