Description	:	Jonathan Starr, son of John and Mary Ann Starr, was born June 6, 1860 in Davis County, Iowa, and departed this life September 8, 1948, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was united in marriage to Lilly Horn on November 28 1882, and to this union was born three children, two sons, Homer L. and Albert E., and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel I. Henderson, all of Bloomfield. He leaves to mourn his departure the three children, three grand children, Ralph L. and Norene Starr, and Mrs. Helen Foster. Read More	Jonathan Starr, son of John and Mary Ann Starr, was born June 6, 1860 in Davis County, Iowa, and departed this life September 8, 1948, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 2 days. Also, three great great grandchildren, Mrs. Marguerite Robinson, Gary Lee and Gay Anna Foster, and one great great granddaughter, Carolyn Lynn Robinson, all of Bloomfield, besides a host of other relatives and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his loving companion on March 31, 1932. Also, his father, mother, three brothers and two sisters. He united with the Missionary Baptist church a number of years ago and remained in that faith until death. The following was composed by the granddaughter, Mrs. Helen Foster: Long had been his suffering, But now they all are over. Thou art now among the number That will wander here no more. We will miss thee in our circle, There will be one vacant chair, But in heaven we hope to meet you, When we climb that golden stairs. Funeral services were held at the Monterey church on Sept. 10 at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by W. F. T. Evans of Centerville, Iowa. The message in song was by Mrs. Clinton Johnson and Mrs. Kenneth Johnson. Burial was in the Burgher Cemetery.
