Description	:	In Memory of Jordan C. Henson Jordon C. Henson was born June 20, 1847 and died on January 23, 1919. He was married to Martha E. Farmer , April 25, 1869. To this union were born 10 children, nine of whom survive with the widow. Mr. Henson professed faith in Christ and united with the Methodist Church at Henson's Chapel when he was about 18 years old of which he remained a faithful member until his death. Henson was born June 20, 1847 and died on January 23, 1919. He was married to Martha E. Farmer , April 25, 1869. To this union were born 10 children, nine of whom survive with the widow. Mr. Henson professed faith in Christ and united with the Methodist Church at Henson's Chapel when he was about 18 years old of which he remained a faithful member until his death. He was a member of the home guard in Civil War and was captured when Fort Mast was taken and carried as a prisoner to Camp Chase, Ohio. Mr. Henson was an industrious man, firmly believing that to be a true patriotic citizen a man had to preform his duty well no difference in what capacity he was serving. If there was anything for which he had the utmost contempt it was a man who tries to get his living without working for it. He was a farmer and mechanic of no mean ability having worked for a number of years as partner with Mr. G. P. Sherrill at the carpenters trade building a number of houses over Watauga county and Johnson county, Tennessee. Mr. Sherrill delivered a eulogy at his burial of which any family would be proud, saying that he tried Mr. Henson in every day life, where life count most, and while he did not claim perfection for him yet, he always found him true. His race is run, and his work is finished, and what we may say does not speak as his life speaks for itself.
