Mr. Christensen was born February 15, 1858, in denmark and he grew to manhood there. He was united in marraige to Karoline Jorgensen in 1885 in Denmark. The couple came to America after a few years and settled in Hamilton County, Iowa, where they resided for a short time. They then moved to a farm in Latimer community and had made their home in the Latimer and Coulter communities ever since. For some time past the couple had been staying with their daughter, Mrs. Verner Petersen. Mrs. Christensen preceded Mr. Christensen on March 25, just 2 weeks preceding his death. She was seventy three years of age. Funeral services for Mrs. Christensen were held at St. John's church with the pastor and Otto Jorgensen conducting the services. The couple was preceded in death by a daughter and one son. The deseased parents are survived by three daughters, Mrs. Verner petersen, Mrs. Ida Vestergaard and Miss Sophus Christensen, and one son, John Christensen, all of Coulter.
